The Federation of Maori Authorities was established twenty five years ago and registered as an Incorporated Society in 1987 as the national advocacy body for Maori Authorities.  FoMA is governed by a Executive Committee comprising 11 members representing the following regions;

• Ngati Tuwharetoa
• Tainui           
• Tairawhiti            
• Taitokerau
• Takitimu            
• Te Arawa                 
• Te Tau Ihu o Te Waka a Maui                  
• Te Upoko o te Ika a Maui 
• Te Wai Pounamu

Each of the 11 rohe, or electoral districts, is represented by one member on the Executive Committee of the Federation of Maori Authorities Inc. See The Board
