Rates Review 2007
The Government has announced the establishment of a rates enquiry and a rates panel with the objective to consider the issue of revenue raised through rates and other revenue raising mechanisms and provide recommendations to the Government for enhancing rating and other funding mechanisms for local authorities.
There is no Maori representation on the Panel therefore FoMA wants to produce a sound Maori issues paper/submission of Maori specific issues. This is where your help is appreciated, what do you want in terms of the reports produced by the panel?
We would appreciate your assistance by filling in the questionnaire and emailing it back to maia@foma.co.nz, this will help us to build statistics on our member base and have an informed argument for our submission.
FoMA will be making a submission, however it would be viable for yourself or your organisation to also make a submission.
5 months has been allocated to this task. Submissions are called for on the 30th April.
