An Assistant Manager is required from the 15 May 2006 for the Otaki and Porirua Trusts Board 100 hectare winter milk farm, milking 300 cows located at Tasman Road, Otaki.  The Assistant Manager will be responsible to the Farm Managers and to the Otaki and Porirua Trusts Board.

 

The Farm is located within 2km of three primary and secondary schools, kohanga reo, kura kaupapa, wharekura.  Te Wananga-o-Raukawa is located next to the farms.  The west coast beach and shopping facilities are within 1km.   Regular public transport by bus and train is available to Palmerston North and Wellington.  There are two houses available.

 

This is a position suited to a person wishing to take on extra responsibilities and advance their career in the dairying industry, and to work as part of an enthusiastic team. The person needs to have good pasture management, animal husbandry and communication skills. Milking will be in a 3 year old 24- aside herringbone shed.  Good working conditions and opportunities to develop and advance.  Climate is temperate with warm winters.
