The FoMA AGM and Conference will be held in Rotorua this year on the 3-5 November, at the Grand Tiara Hotel. We will advise as soon as more information becomes available.

Maori Conservation Leadership Hui
The Maori Conservation Board, Maori Directors, Doc and other interest groups attended the Maori Conservation Hui last week to discuss New Zealand environmental strategies. The key findings are here.

Maori Legal Forum
The Forum will be held at the Wellington Town Hall, Wellington 31st July & 1st August.

Apples Rise commodity prices
The ANZ World Commodity Index rose 2.1% in May, apples brought a 57% price rise, and aluminium, kiwifruit and timber are also up, however lamb beef and wool prices are down. Read article, view ANZ Core Blimey

NZ Says No to Self-Determination
No government can accept the notion of creating different classes of citizens says the US, Australia and New Zealand in a joint statement opposing the demands of indigenous people for self determination. Read the article attached.

Farmers are railing together in the McKenzie country to protest against the microchipping of their dogs. Federated Farmers oppose the implantation of the bill and many farmers want to see local councils ignore legislation that comes into effect next month Read Article

Poaching destroys Paua Industry
